We collect the following categories of information:

We do not collect bank account numbers, brokerage credentials, or government ID numbers, and we ask that you not enter this kind of sensitive information into your journal entries or notes.
We do not use your journal data to sell you products or to provide personalized financial or investment advice.
Pipsnote is built on Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore database) to store account information and journal data. When you use the Service, your data is processed and stored by Firebase in accordance with Google's Firebase privacy terms. We do not independently sell, rent, or otherwise monetize your data with additional third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the Service.
Publicly available historical market/price data used for backtesting (e.g., HISTDATA-sourced price files) is not personal information and is not linked to your identity.
We use your browser's local storage to remember interface preferences on your device, such as your selected light/dark theme and certain in-progress session state. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or trackers.
We retain your account and journal data for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including provider-managed authentication and access-controlled databases. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
The Service is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, wherever our service providers operate infrastructure. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer, storage, and processing.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will provide additional notice (such as an in-app or email notification) where appropriate.
